Le Faouët – from the 15th of June till the 5th of October 2003
The Faouët town
museum presents an exposition on the painters in Faouët at the beginning
of the 20th century.
Barnoin, Beaufrère, Borgeaud, Creston, David-Nillet, D’Etienne,
Guérin, Lalaisse, Maufra, Méheut, Midy, Thompson. These
and many other painters have painted this little town, which became one
of the most important “greenrooms” in Cornouaille during that
time.
A remarkable book (128 pages in colour) has been published, describing
this period of both artistical and historical importance to this little
town (1845 – 1945).
Furthermore, indicated tours around town enabling the visitor to experience
the same inspiring atmosphere as these painters experienced in the past
on their most beloved places.
